The Role
We're seeking skilled online tutors to deliver high-quality lessons in Mandarin. This position is perfect for tech-savvy educators who enjoy leveraging digital tools to make learning interactive and student-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver online Mandarin lessons across beginner to advanced levels, including structured HSK preparation (levels 1–6).
- Teach tones and pronunciation using pinyin drills, online listening tools, and real-time correction.
- Prepare students for HSK exams with mock tests, timed writing practice, and vocabulary lists delivered online.
- Assess oral proficiency through online role plays, listening tasks, and speaking drills.
- Conduct vocabulary practice through digital flashcards, quizzes, and spaced-repetition platforms.
- Incorporate authentic materials (Chinese news sites, songs, and cultural videos) for immersive learning.
- Provide individualized feedback on tone accuracy, writing errors, and comprehension gaps.
- Suggest supplementary online resources such as apps, reading platforms, and language exchange tools.
- Maintain a stable online teaching environment with reliable internet and equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Language, Chinese Literature, Education, or related fields.
- At least 1 year of online teaching experience (preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Mandarin with excellent grammar, clear pronunciation, and communication skills.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to use Zoom, Google Meet, Google Classroom, or other e-learning tools.
- Strong digital communication skills and ability to adapt lessons for online delivery.
- High-speed internet connection and reliable computer/laptop setup.
- Patience, adaptability, and empathy towards diverse student needs.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain student motivation in an online setting.
